Good question and I bet you will get a number of good answers.
You mentioned that prayer in America is not strong and regular like it
should be - and although it is a broad and subjective statement, I agree
My suggestion is to avoid finding a 'patch' to fix the problem, but rather
go to the root. What is the root of the American believer's problem? In my
opinion it is a insensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
As humans we want to create systems, structures, laws, rules and so on to
make it easy to hit the mark in life. I can not tell you how many college
classes I sat in at the beginning of each semester where a student would
raise her hand and ask, "What do I have to do to get an "A" in this class?"
The very idea suggests that there is a rulebook to learning and if one
follows it one will get a reward and recognition. But, following rules does
not a true student make.
So, my feeling is we here in the US (on a whole) are not aware of the Holy
Spirit and do not submit our lives to the leading of God. If we were to do
that (and I am assuming we are filled with said Spirit) we would be praying
when necessary. In fact, we would be fulfilling the scripture when it tells
us to pray without ceasing, as our lives would be in a continual attitude of
If you look at our cousins and realize why they have set times of prayer it
is because they have not indwelling. Thus, they *need* those set times and
rules to ensure they are continually in God's favor. We, on the other hand,
are in his favor no matter what, so form there it is simply (I say simply,
but it is life's biggest challenge) a matter of knowing the voice of the
master and being obedient to that voice.
To me, not knowing and not heeding that voice is America's bigger problem
than a lack of prayer. I think if we could tackle the one, the other would
fall into place.

Subject: [ntcp] India on the move, Jesus breaking the chains
It appears that something momentous is about to occur in India. Whether
or not the societal chains of the caste system are soon rent asunder is
not the greatest concern but would certainly complement the release of
multitudes of spiritual captives from Satan and sin.
Dan Beaty (Columbus, Ohio) of this list, btw, has made two excursions
there and has had a book translated into one of the languages of this
vast land teeming with eager natives. Unfortunately his modesty has come
between us and the details of these visits. :-D
I was not familiar with this exciting development but am going to pray
and order the free book. I hope that things will be so great that as
before, the saints will meet from house to house.

Dear Friends in Christ,
I can&Mac185;t overstate the importance and urgency of this email regarding the
probability of a revival that could begin in India on November 4, 2001.
Three hundred million Dalits (low-caste "untouchables") are on the verge
of leaving the caste system. This is a gateway for us to present the
Gospel to these millions and more!
Over the past few months, high-level leaders representing no less than
300 million Dalits have been in dialogue with the All India Christian
Council. (The AICC is the largest Evangelical network in India with
membership of over 2,000 mission organizations, denominations and other
Christian entities.) Their simple request was: "The only way for our
people to find freedom from 3,000 years of slavery is to quit the caste
system and embrace another faith. Christianity offers hope for us. We are
happy for our people to become Christians...

Website for a tv show I caught on skyangel today. The current showing is
on prayer and evidence for it's efficacy. They've covered many other
topics as well according to their website but i didn't see anything on
resurrection. However, I only scratched the surface of what's on their
